Louisville basketball has won eight straight, and the Cardinals have won 18 of their last 19 games. So, why worry?

While yes, that is true, Louisville basketball also has struggled with some ACC teams like Virginia Tech or Florida State - teams many believed underperformed. And while the Cardinals are thriving in all aspects, there are always some areas for improvement.

Cardinals shooting is beginning to worry many fans, and Reyne Smith has not been himself for a long time. So, yes, the Cardinals continue to win, but let's be honest Louisville basketball fans: these ACC teams are not top tier opponents, especially as of late, and the Cardinals have to pick it up quickly.

Gauging the panic meter on 5 struggling Louisville basketball before ACC Tournament

Louisville basketball shooting woes have been highly concerning, and the Cardinals did not start out hot this game vs Cal. Fans took to X and expressed how they felt and the concerns they had.

The Cardinals barely snuck by Virginia Tech a few games ago, shooting 26.1% from beyond the arc and 45.2% from the field. Unfortunately, Reyne Smith continues struggling immensely as the ACC Tournament creeps up, and fans are putting the panic meter on 5.

The Cardinals' future doesn't depend on Smith shooting, but if they want to go far, it does. Chucky Hepburn and Terrence Edwards Jr. can only do so much, and Smith has shot 24-76 from downtown in his last nine games, which is just 31.5%. The sharpshooter out of Ulverstone, TAS., must find his shot before it is too late, as he was one of the most lethal shooters in college basketball and shooting from downtown at nearly 40%.

The Cardinals shooting guard was one of the best shooters in the nation, and a report came out the flu bug hit the locker room, and since then, Louisville basketball shooting hasn't been the same.

Pat Kelsey has to trust him and assume he will get his shot back, but also there isn't anything to do as the Cardinals injury bug is already so haunting. The Cardinals shooting guard has 104 threes on the year, and UofL fans can only assume he will get that shot back.

The game of basketball isn't easy, and everyone will go through a tough patch at this level. However, the timing is just so unfortunate, and Cardinals fans have their eyes on ACC Tournament history and then also a deep March Madness run.

With just one game remaining before the ACC Tournament, yes, Louisville basketball fans begin to worry, but at the same time, they have to trust this lethal shooter will eventually find his shot. Now fans just have to hope he doesn't find it too late.

ACC Tournament for Louisville will begin in the quarterfinal round on March 13.
