4. Ryan Conwell, G
As one of Louisville’s 2 preseason All-ACC honorees, Conwell has lived up to the hype and played the part in the early part of the season. The senior transfer Conwell is averaging 15.5 points per game, while also shooting 41 percent from 3-point land to start the year. Conwell has been one of the more consistent players early on for Pat Kelsey, a senior leader who can be relied upon to get a bucket when the offense stalls. He will be asked to maintain this role as the Cardinals roll on into the next game against Kentucky.
Conwell can light up opponents with his outside shooting on any given night, as seen through the first two games. However, his ability to create offense and take defenders one-on-one may be on display more than anticipated, especially if Louisville finds itself in scoring droughts or having an off-shooting night. Kelsey will look to Conwell to be the senior leader he needs to be in an incredibly tough environment. Conwell’s ability to respond to adversity and to create plays on both ends of the floor will be one of the keys to a Louisville victory.
