2. Sananda Fru, F
One position group where Kentucky has the upper hand is in the backcourt, particularly at the center position. Sananda Fru has received mixed reviews so far this season, with intensity and aggressiveness identified as potential areas for improvement. Louisville will need Fru to channel an increase in these two areas to hold his own down low and help with winning the rebounding battle. Kentucky’s big men will be ready to go and will give Fru his first true test against a formidable opponent down low.
Fru showed promise and an increase in aggressiveness in Louisville's last game against Jackson St., where he posted 12 points and five rebounds. The Louisville backcourt will look to Fru to be the enforcer and the main filler of this role all season. With the remaining teams on Louisville’s non-conference schedule, the talent level will be maintained with a tiny dip. If Louisville wants to win this game, Fru will need to be a force on the inside and prove he can stand up to and play with some of the more aggressive backcourt players in the country.
