Perhaps the player on this team with the most question marks is returning sophomore Khani Rooths. The 6’-10” forward played a quiet role on last year's team as a freshman, only posting 3.3 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. Rooths is anticipated to battle for minutes alongside fellow returners J’Vonne Hadley and Kasean Pryor, most likely in the 4 spot for coach Kelsey.

Rooths has the build and the potential to be an absolutely electric player for the Cardinals this season. Many NBA scouts have their eyes on Rooths for these particular reasons, as one who could play their way into a future draft pick position. Can Rooths take the big step forward and play a vital role for this team, or will he fall into a dreaded sophomore slump? Rooths' return to Louisville was viewed by many as a massive win for Kelsey for this season. The hope is that Rooths continues to develop under Kelsey’s leadership and becomes the NBA prospect that most anticipate him to be.
