2. Clev Lubin, DE

Junior defensive lineman Clev Lubin has had his play slide slightly over the last three games after a hot start in the first two contests. Lubin posted 3.5 sacks in the first two games, while only recording 0.5 sacks over the last three games. This magnificent and dominant start had Louisville fans singing the praises of Lubin and the defensive line for their highly unexpected performances. Louisville will need Lubin to step up in a leadership role for the defensive line this week and channel the play of the first two games in the tough spot against Miami.

One of the keys to Louisville pulling the upset against Miami will start with the pressure the Louisville defensive line can place on Miami senior quarterback Carson Beck. Keeping Beck uncomfortable and forcing him to make errant, rushed throws will hopefully lead to mistakes and potentially result in turnovers for the defense. Lubin’s role as Louisville’s lead pass rusher will be even more needed to make this happen for the Cardinals.
