1. Isaac Brown, RB

Louisville’s running back room entered the 2025 season with as much hype as a group could get with the likes of Isaac Brown returning to Louisville after an incredible first year. The sophomore slump has been in full effect for Brown, posting only 46 carries for 334 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Brown’s injuries and ineffectiveness in the last three games have been one of the primary reasons for the offensive struggles. These struggles in the run game have added additional strain and pressure to the passing game, and Miller Moss is facing pressure not necessarily anticipated at the beginning of the season.

For Louisville’s season prospects to improve, the issues with the rushing attack have to be resolved, and quickly. Luckily, Louisville had its second bye week come at an opportune time before arguably the biggest game of the season for the Cardinals. The time off was a perfect opportunity to continue getting healthy and work on addressing any needs that were exposed in the first five games.

Louisville fans will get a front-and-center look at these tweaks on a national stage, with hopefully a revamped running game leading the charge for the Louisville offense. Hopefully, Cardinals fans will see the Brown of last year and the first two games of this season.
