3. Clev Lubin, DE

Louisville’s defensive star Clev Lubin once again found his name on the PFF’s Week 4 Team of the Week with his play against Bowling Green. The senior star defensive end posted a five-tackle performance last week, pushing his current season totals to 19 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. Lubin has been on an absolute tear on the defensive line for a defense that has greatly exceeded the preseason expectations of many Louisville fans. Louisville will need much more of the same production this week as the quality of opponents starts to increase dramatically entering ACC play.

The injury report was also not kind to the defensive line, with Konga and Bailey listed as questionable. If these two are not able to play on Saturday, that will greatly increase the responsibility of Lubin and the other starters to up their game to account for these losses. The defense, particularly the defensive line, has been the team's surprise strength thus far this season. This consistency must remain as Louisville progresses through ACC play, especially if the offense encounters issues against the conference's stout defenses. Look for Lubin to continue his dominant play on the line and lead by example on the defense.
