The Cardinals hosted another commitment this weekend as Taj Powell was on campus, despite being committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers. Vince Marrow is known for being able to flip commitments left and right, and Powell is one of his top priorities in the 2026 cycle.

Louisville has earned two commitments for the linebacker position, but he would be a dream fit to play with in-state commitment and highly recruited Karsten Busch. Powell ranks as high as No. 908 in the nation and the 73rd-best linebacker in the 2026 class.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker committed to West Virginia in April, but has since kept his recruitment open and has continued to earn offers throughout the summer. Louisville is one of his top choices if he does decide to flip, as the Cardinals made their offer just last month and earned a gameday visit immediately from the 3-star recruit.
