It is an exciting time of year for college basketball fans, as the Final Four and National Championship are this weekend, and on Tuesday, April 7, the Transfer Portal will open for a two-week window. Louisville basketball is expected to be a heavy spender this year for the second straight time, as the Cardinals are reportedly expected to spend $8-10 million on the Transfer Portal.

Predicting which remaining Louisville basketball players leave or stay next season

The Cardinals will have a lot of work to do with that NIL money, as they have already lost Sananda Fru and Khani Rooths to the portal, will lose Mikel Brown Jr. to the NBA Draft, and will lose Ryan Conwell and Isaac McKneely due to eligibility. So, with Louisville losing many of its top players from a year ago, the fans are making it clear that Pat Kelsey has to attack the frontcourt and get someone who can play defense.

Well, the newest Transfer Portal entry should be a dream target for Louisville, as he is exactly what the Cardinals need.

5-star transfer Flory Bidunga is immediately a dream target for Louisville

Yesterday, it was announced that Kansas star center Flory Bidunga will enter the Transfer Portal, making him immediately the top player in the Transfer Portal.

Bidunga will also declare for the NBA Draft, but college basketball fans saw Yaxel Lendeborg declare for the 2025 NBA Draft as well, but decided to return and play for Michigan, and now his draft stock is much higher. So, if Bidunga enters the portal, Louisville needs some frontcourt help, and the 5-star transfer is exactly what the Cards are looking for.

The 6-foot-10, 235-pound center averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game while shooting 64.0 percent from the field. The 5-star Kansas transfer ranks No. 1 among centers and No. 1 among all transfers in the portal.

He scored 20 points or more five times and earned 13 double-doubles in his sophomore season, earning him All-Big 12 First Team. He also won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award and was a candidate for national Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Big 12 in blocks with 2.6 per game, and ranking No. 6 in Division 1 basketball. He earned 91 total blocks on the year, which ranked No. 4 in Division 1 basketball.

The 5-star transfer was also a former 5-star recruit out of high school, as he ranked No. 14 in the 2024 recruiting class and No. 4 among centers. He earned 16 offers, including one from Louisville back in October 2022. Now, he is back on the market, and with Louisville in dire need of an elite center, the 5-star transfer emerges as a glaring dream target.

It won’t be an easy splash for Kelsey and Louisville, and it certainly wouldn’t be cheap. But it would be a huge addition for Kelsey and Louisville, and it would attract other elite players in the Transfer Portal.
