2. Perry Thompson
The Cards need some star power on the outside, like what Ja'Corey Brooks and Chris Bell brought, and that is why they should go after a guy like Perry Thompson. The former 4-star Auburn commit recently entered the transfer portal, and with many big-time programs turning to Cam Coleman, Louisville should try to get Thompson.
He ranked No. 38 in the 2024 recruiting class and was a unanimous 4-star recruit. At 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, fans can immediatley see he has a similar build to Bell. The sophomore receiver is coming off his best season, where he logged 17 catches for 154 yards, and in his true freshman season, he logged five catches for 126 yards and a touchdown.
On 3 Sports ranks him as a 4-star recruit, No. 54 overall, and the No. 13 wide receiver in the portal as of this afternoon. With him trying to have that statement season, Louisville can offer him that opportunity and slot him at WR1. And if Louisville can land a QB like Raiola or Lagway, it will help attract star wide receivers like Thompson.
