The spring transfer portal has been open for over a day, and some elite stars have entered it. The biggest surprise so far was the former Tennessee star quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

Iamaleava, out of nowhere, didn't show up to spring practice and has now officially transferred to UCLA. The Cardinals will keep their eyes on the transfer portal. They hope to have a similar outcome from the basketball program as they had a massive offseason and skyrocketed their National Championship odds.

Jeff Brohm and his staff must implement a similar approach to Pat Kelsey's offseason to compete for the ACC title. The Louisville Cardinals desperately need a few positions, but one glaring area they must target is the wide receivers. Louisville will have a couple of stars in Caullin Lacy and Chris Bell, but they don't have much depth after those two wide receivers.

The Cardinals lost their No. 1 wide receiver from last year as Ja'Corey Brooks entered the NFL Draft. Brohm also lost a speedy freshman to the transfer portal, as JoJo Stone will transfer out of the Cardinals' program this spring.

Louisville needs some elite playmakers in the wide receiver position to win the ACC crown. Luckily for the Cardinals, some of the top receivers in the nation have entered the transfer portal, and the Cardinals must go all-in and contact these 5-star wide receivers.

5. Trebor Pena

One of the best wide receivers in the portal right now is Trebor Pena, an elite playmaker from Syracuse. The 4-star transfer is ranked as high as the third-best receiver available per On3 Sports after his massive season on offense and special teams for the Orange.

Pena made the All-ACC Second Team after he led Syracuse in receptions and receiving touchdowns last season for the No. 1 passing offense in the nation., He secured 84 receptions for 941 receiving yards while finding the endzone nine times. The elite 6-foot receiver would be a dream target for the Cardinals, and it would be an easy transition for him as he already knows the ACC's style.

Last season, Pena secured 50 receiving yards or more in 10 games, 70 yards or more in eight games, 100 yards or more in two games, and his season-high was 128 receiving yards against the No. 6 team in the country, the Miami Hurricanes.

Pena is an elite target in the wide receiver room. Last year, he scored two touchdowns in three games and three touchdowns in one game against Georgia Tech. The Cardinals have to contact this 4-star wide receiver if they want to try to reach their full potential next year.
