The spring transfer portal is set to open tomorrow, April 16, and Jeff Brohm and Louisville football are expected to make some noise and address some glaring concerns.
One position Brohm and company need to address on the offensive side of the ball is the tight end position. As Mark Redman declared for the NFL Draft, the Cardinals will lose their top tight ends from last year, Redman, Jamari Johnson, and Izayah Cummings. Johnson and Cummings hit the transfer portal, making Nate Kurisky the top tight end returning from last season. Kurisky secured 12 catches for 112 yards.
The Cardinals' tight end room took a massive hit from the winter transfer portal, but now, with the spring portal opening up, there are some big-name targets that Brohm must go after.
Perfect TE emerges as strong transfer portal candidate for Louisville football
Louisville lacks depth in the tight end and wide receiver positions. The Cardinals need a big tight end who can be a reliable target for Miller Moss, the USC transfer.
The perfect target recently entered his name in the portal, and the Cardinals must go after him. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound tight end transfer out of Cal, Jack Endries, is set to hit the portal, and at the frame and skill he brings, he is the exact role player Brohm is looking for.
Pete Nakos of On3 was the first to report Endries is hitting the transfer portal. With a desire to land a tight end in the transfer portal, Brohm must make a massive pitch to Endries. With the elite weapons on this Caridnals' offense, Louisville should be one of the top landing spots in his mind.

The former walk-on is expected to be one of the top tight ends in the spring transfer portal as he has racked up 1,030 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his two years with Cal. The sophomore earned an impressive 56 catches for 623 receiving yards last season while finding the endzone twice.
Pro Football Focus ranked Endries as the No. 2 tight end returning to college in 2025. This is a massive opportunity for the Cardinals early in the transfer portal. Louisville needs someone who can be a solid blocker but can also be an elite receiver and a valuable option for Moss.
Endries secured 50 receiving yards or more in six games last season, including a nine-catch, 101-yard receiving game against North Carolina State, eight catches for 119 receiving yards, and a touchdown against Pitt. He also secured a touchdown and 78 receiving yards against Miami, which is worth noting as Louisville will try to compete with the Hurricanes this year for the ACC crown.
