Louisville basketball is trending to be one of the top landing spots for multiple 5-stars in the 2026 recruiting class. Pat Kelset has proven he can recruit at a high level after earning a historic commitment from 5-star point guard Mikel Brown Jr. and bringing in three elite transfers this offseason.
Now, he will look to carry that momentum into the 2026 recruiting class and land an elite 5-star point guard once again, and hopefully at least one other 5-star. The Cardinals are in many 5-star updated recruiting lists, making them on the verge of landing multiple dream targets in the 2026 recruiting class.
With Louisville trending in the right direction for so many 5-star targets in the 2026 cycle, we decided to break down and list Louisville's top six dream targets in the 2026 recruiting class, and their chances of earning their commitments.
6 Dream commitments that would make Louisville’s 2026 class perfect
6. Dylan Mingo - CG
A player that Louisville has been in the news with is the 5-star guard from New York, Dylan Mingo. The 5-star guard is ranked both as a point guard and a combo guard, and is considered one of the best players in the nation in both positions. Mingo comes in ranked No. 5 in the nation and the best point guard per On3 Sports, while 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 7 best player in the cycle and the No. 3 best combo guard.
Louisville extended its offer in May 2025 after the 6-foot-5, 180 pound guard averaged 14.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game, and went on to make MaxPreps Junior All-America Third-Team.
Mingo emerged as one of Louisville's top dream targets after he won MVP at the NBAPA Top 100 Camp. The elite guard averaged 23.8 points, 6.8 assists, and 6.5 rebounds per game, and now has received over 25 offers. The 5-star averaged 18.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, shooting 42.2 percent from the field, while playing for the PSA Cardinals in the Nike EYBL circuit.
Louisville has shown a lot of interest in Mingo this offseason as Kelsey and his staff have been seen at multiple games. However, Minogo is definitely more of a dream target rather than a realistic target, as On3 Sports gives Washington a dominant 74.9 percent chance of winning his commitment. In comparison, Louisville has just a 1.5 percent chance.
Mingo has yet to cut his list down or update it. Louisville fans have their eyes on the 5-star as he tends to be one of their newest dream targets in the 2026 cycle.
