The Transfer Portal closes this Friday, January 16, so every player who wants to enter the portal must submit their decision before the deadline. Anyone who enters the portal doesn't have to commit before January 16, they just have to enter the portal before that deadline. So, players will still be committing and transferring next week.

So, with the portal closing soon, there is a bit of another wave entering right now as more players are deciding to enter the portal. Louisville football is beginning to contact a few players again as the Cardinals still need to address key positions, including wide receiver. Louisville has added four wide receivers and convinced two key receivers to return, but the Cards need to add some depth and someone with height.

Well, it was reported that Louisville is not only in contact but is earning a visit from Elon transfer Isaiah Fuhrmann, and the Cardinals fans should be all-in on this underrated wide receiver.

Louisville is set to host Fuhrmann this week as the Cardinals are entering the recruiting battle for the Elon transfer. As of now, On3Sports has Wisconsin as the dominant favorite to land Fuhrmann, with Kentucky the next-closest team, as both programs have earned visits.

Louisville has added four wide receivers so far this offseason in Vanderbilt transfer Tre Richardson, Florida State transfer Lawayne McCoy, Drake transfer Jackson Voth, and Kentucky transfer Montavin Quisenberry. However, the Cardinals need that wide receiver who can go get 50/50 balls in the red zone and has good height and strong hands, and Fuhrmann is a hidden gem for that.

Last season, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver earned 46 catches for 907 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. The Virginia native was an elite deep-ball threat, averaging nearly 20 yards per catch and recording 100 receiving yards or more in four games last season.

He emerges as a true gem for Louisville and a breakout candidate at the next level. With the Cardinals' offense having an elite running back room and already landing big-time playmakers in Richardson and McCoy, adding someone like Fuhrmann, who has size and breakaway speed, is crucial for this wide receiver room.

He is ranked No. 1,166 overall and No. 168 wide receiver in the Transfer Portal. Louisville has some ground to make up in the recruiting battle against Wisconsin, given how heavily favored Wisconsin is, but earning a visit is a step in the right direction. Now, once he gets on campus, Louisville has to try to earn his commitment before he leaves, which Vince Marrow and Brohm have done a good job of earning players' commitments as soon as possible after they visit.
