Big-time 4-star DL sets Louisville Football visit ahead of summer decision

Jeff Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals learned some excellent news on Tuesday, as Louisville football is trending towards elite 4-star defensive linemen. The Cardinals found themselves in Cameron McHaney's top five and earned an official visit, according to On3 Sports.

According to On3 Sports, the four-star defensive lineman is ranked as high as No. 395 in the class of 2026, and the Cardinals look to add this monster of a defender. Louisville is fiercely battling for McHaney against Purdue, Illinois, Vanderbilt, and Indiana.

The Florida native attends IMG Academy and has received over 11 offers. Louisville learned that they will host this 4-star recruit on June 6-8 after McHaney moved his visit with Illinois to a different date and pushed the Cardinals' visit to the first weekend of June.

The 4-star defensive lineman is ranked as the 37th best DL in the class of 2026 and the 57th best recruit out of Florida. McHaney secured 39 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, and two sacks last season in his junior campaign.

The Cardinals' 20.3 percent chance is the third-best odds to land this 6-foot-1, 315-pound defensive lineman, according to On3 Sports. Ahead of Louisville includes Indiana with a 35.8 percent chance and Purdue with a 23.7 percent chance.

On3 Sports reported that McHaney will announce his decision this summer on July 1. The 4-star also has a visit with Vanderbilt on May 30, Purdue on June 13, and Indiana on June 20.

The Cardinals have earned 13 commitments from the class of 2026, including five 4-stars. Brohm's 2026 recruiting class is ranked as high as the 16th best class, per 247Sports, and On3 Sports ranks it No. 24.
