Louisville football faces Alabama, Georgia & others for 4-Star DL after big update

Louisville football's class of 2026 is one step closer to landing one of their most significant prospects yet. The Cardinals have had a massive 2026 recruiting class, as Jeff Brohm and his staff are ranked as high as No. 14 for the nine commitments.

Well, the Cards are closing in on one of the best defensive linemen in the class. Brohm and Louisville learned excellent news on Monday night as the Cardinals are in 4-star defensive lineman Kendall Guervil's top 10 schools, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports.

Guervil received over 28 offers and is one of the top-recruited players in the nation. The Cardinals have been in a massive recruiting battle against SEC, ACC, and Big 10 giants. Louisville will go all-in on the massive 6-foot-5, 310 defensive linemen as Brohm looks to land another 4-star recruit.

Louisville football receives massive update from No. 8 DL in 2026 class

Louisville will now face National Championship-contending programs. The Cardinals are in a recruiting battle with Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, and Miami. The other three programs are North Carolina, Florida State, and USC.

Guervil logged an impressive 2024 season as he secured a career-high 88 total tackles and 12 tackles for a loss while forcing two fumbles in his junior season. His three seasons with Fort Myers have been eye-opening as the 310-pound defensive lineman has secured 165 total tackles, 84 solo tackles, 24 tackles for a loss, and 7.5 sacks in 30 games through three seasons, according to Max Preps

Guervil is considered a consensus 4-star recruit out of Fort Myers High School. According to 247Sports, the Florida native is ranked as high as the eighth-best defensive lineman, the ninth-best player out of Florida, and the 75th-best player in the nation in the class of 2026.
