Chucky Hepburn put on an absolute clinic of a performance in last nights game, and helped elevate this Cardinals team to 23-6, and 16-2 in the ACC.
Louisville now has won their most ACC regular season game in program history, and still have two games remaining. Pat Kelsey brought in 13 newcomers for this 2024-2025 season, and clerly it has worked to near perfection.
Louisville had a combine 12 wins in the pervious two seasons, and thanks to their star guard transfer Louisville basketball has secured a double-bye this year in the ACC Tournament. Hepburn has been a force to be reckoned with all season, and ever since he was blatantly snubbed from the 10 finalists for the Bob Cousy award, he has been on an absolute tear.
Louisville basketball's Chucky Hepburn's career-defining game
Chucky Hepburn is a first-year transfer from Wisconsin, where he averaged 9.2 points, 3.9 assists, 3.3 rebounds on 32.2% shooting from beyond the arc.
Well, Hepburn has stepped up and he does everything Pat Kelsey can ask for as he fills the stat sheet, with an impressive average of 16.3 points, 6.0 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and shoots from the field at 45.2%, and 36.0% from beyond the arc per game.
Since Hepburn was left off the list back early February, he now is averaging 20.6 points, 4.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals. He also is shooting the ball at an insane splits as he shoots 48% from beyond the arc, 58.7% from the field and 88.9% from the charity stripe.
Cardinals have won all six games since the announcement of him being snubbed and have won 17 of their last 18 games. Hepburn scored 37 points last night which marks a career-high, and did it in one of the best shooting performances in the nation.
Hepburn finished the game with 37 points, four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and went 6-6 from beyond the arc, and 9-11 from the field.
Pitt took a one point lead with just about five-minutes remaining in the first half and Hepburn had enough, and decided to take over. He would go on to splash six three-pointers in Louisville final seven possessions of the half and score the Cardinals last 18 points of the half and lead Louisville to a 10 point lead.
Hepburn finished the half with 24 points, but his contributions weren't done yet. Cardinals would fall behind 62-59 in late of second half, but the 6-foot-2, 190 pound guard out of Omaha, Neb. would score 5 points in a Cardinals 9-0 run, and Louisville never looked back.

Chucky Hepburn proves that college basketball was wrong, and he clearly is one of the top 10 best point guards in this league. Cardinals fans maybe should thank that team that didn't put him on the list, as he has been a flame thrower ever since and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
If Louisville basketball can keep this production of Hepburn's or something similar, than Louisville basketball will have a great chance at history yet again, and win the ACC Title.
