Louisville football had another big day in the Transfer Portal yesterday, landing four players. In the last three days, Louisville has added 13 players, with eight being added on Tuesday, one being added on Wednesday, and four being added on Thursday. Now, the Cardinals will look to build on this momentum, especially in the wide receiver room, as they continue to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.

The Transfer Portal is open for just one more week, closing on January 16. This is the only portal this season, as the spring Transfer Portal no longer exists. So, with Louisville landing 17 commitments in the first week, we are here to break down all 17 portal additions for the Louisville Cardinals so far.

So, here is every Transfer Portal player who committed to Louisville football in the first week.

1. Lincoln Kienholz | QB | Ohio State

Transfer ranking: No. 106 | No. 16 QB

Ohio State transfer Lincoln Kienholz, a former 4-star recruit and projected starting quarterback, stands as the Cardinals' most significant addition so far. After two seasons with the Buckeyes—including the year of their National Title and a recent QB1 competition with Julian Sayin—he now commits to Louisville.

He arrives with high expectations, as the 4-star high school recruit was one of the most accurate passers, throwing just 12 interceptions to 83 touchdowns in his junior and senior seasons. At Ohio State, he didn’t earn much playing time, completing 58.3 percent of his 36 passes over three seasons. Louisville is entering the 2026 season with high expectations, as many believe Jeff Brohm will make Kienholz an elite QB in the ACC.
