Louisville basketball recently secured its first win as a group, defeating Raw Talent in the Bahamas 101-52 in an exhibition game. The Cardinals were led by 5-star transfer Flory Bidunga, who earned a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, six blocks, and four assists.
The Cards fans were quite surprised by Pat Kelsey’s starting lineup for this exhibition game, as London Johnson got the nod to start over Adrian Wooley, which quickly raised some eyebrows from the Cardinals fans. Louisville fans aren’t overthinking this move just yet, as we are now about to enter August, and the former 5-star transfer had a productive game, finishing with 12 points in 24 minutes.
Wooley is a Cardinal who is expected to be a key player for Kelsey and Louisville this upcoming season. And the Field of 68’s Rob Dauster went as far as saying Wooley might be the Cardinals' leading scorer when the season comes to an end.

Louisville returned only one key player from this past season, as the Cardinals lost nine of their top 10 players. Kelsey had to go and add nine players, including six from the Transfer Portal and three from the 2026 recruiting class, and that one key returner was, of course, Wooley.
The former 5-star transfer is expected to take a leap this upcoming season for the Cardinals, and in Dauster’s eyes, he expects a massive leap from Wooley.
"If you are playing in a Pat Kelsey system and you are a guard, being able to get to the foul line and being a high-level 3-point shooter are two of the most important things you can do," stated Dauster on Wooley. "I would not be surprised to see him take a really, really big leap this year. I don’t think it is out of the question that he ends up being the leading scorer on this team.”
Wooley is coming off a year in which he started 16 games for the Cardinals and averaged 8.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.7 steals per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and making 41 3’s on 35 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
Wooley had his up-and-down moments after making the jump to Power Five basketball, but the 5-star transfer began to show his potential towards the end of the season. Wooley scored 17 points on 70 percent shooting against Michigan State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, and now the hope is that he can carry that into next year.
The Cardinals have Final Four expectations and dreams, and for those to come to life, Louisville needs Wooley to make that jump, as Dauster predicts, and to play as he did at Kennesaw State. In his true freshman season, Wooley won the Conference-USA Freshman of the Year award while also earning First-Team All-CUSA honors after averaging 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while making 73 3’s on 42 percent shooting from downtown and shooting 52 percent from the field.
Louisville fans are starving for a Final Four run, and if Wooley can average close to 18 points like he did his freshman season, then this Cardinals team is in great shape for a deep postseason run.
