Louisville basketball is in the conversation with many of the top transfers in the Transfer Portal, including the No. 1 overall transfer, Flory Bidunga. The Cardinals are hosting the 5-star transfer on an official visit tomorrow with 4-star transfer Jackson Shelstad, and just one day before the two elite transfers get on campus, things are heating up.

Flory Bidunga Update: Louisville facing 3 major threats to land 5-star transfer

Earlier today, Louisville fans saw 247 Sports log a Crystal Ball prediction favoring the Cardinals to land Shelstad. And as for Bidunga, Louisville fans certainly feel a lot better about landing the 5-star, as just moments ago, Michigan landed Tennessee transfer J.P. Estrella, making it certainly feel like the 2025 National Champs are ready to pivot.

First Flory Bidunga domino falls for Louisville with Michigan's recent commit

Louisville is reportedly in an early battle for Bidunga with Duke, St. John’s, and Michigan. However, with the Wolverines landing the 6-foot-11, 245-pound transfer, it feels like maybe Michigan is leaving the race.

Estrella is regarded as a top-25 transfer on the portal and a former 4-star recruit out of high school. The Tennessee transfer ranks as high as No. 21 in the Transfer Portal and is a consensus 4-star transfer, and with the Wolverines landing Estrella early on, Louisville fans have to feel a whole lot better about their chances of landing Bidunga.

It was reported earlier today that Michigan was trending toward earning a visit from the Kansas transfer, but with this commitment, it feels like Dusty May is quickly pivoting and targeting somewhere else. If that is the case, that is a huge boost for Louisville, especially with Bidunga visiting tomorrow.

This feels like a domino falling Louisville’s way. The Cardinals are already feeling much more confident about Shelstad and earning his commitment because of the Crystal Ball predictions, and now, with Michigan potentially leaving the race, Louisville fans are beginning to think maybe tomorrow is a package deal, and they could potentially land both elite transfers on their visits.

Bidunga would be a program-changing commitment for Louisville as he is a former 5-star recruit out of high school and is a unanimous 5-star transfer. He is coming off a dominant season in which he won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, averaging 2.6 blocks per game and recording 91 total blocks.

He earned 13 double-doubles last season and averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting 64 percent from the field.

Tomorrow marks a crucial day for Kelsey and Louisville basketball, as Michigan's landing Estrella might have just taken the Wolverines off the board for Bidunga.
