The first AP Poll of the season sets the stage for Pat Kelsey and Louisville's huge year

There is a lot to look forward to this upcoming season, but one player UofL fans are extremely excited about is 5-star transfer Flory Bidunga. The 6-foot-9 center is one of the best centers in college basketball, and now he will look to send a major statement to the rest of the nation, including his former team.

Flory Bidunga is ready to make a statement against his former team

All offseason, Bidunga and Louisville fans heard the 5-star transfer must improve his offensive game. It was as if most of the nation forgot how elite he is on the court, and instead of praising the addition of Bidunga, many experts decided to critique and nitpick his game.

Well, now Bidunga has a golden opportunity tomorrow night to remind everyone why he was the No. 1 overall transfer and what Kansas is missing. Bidunga transferred from Kansas to Louisville, and there is nothing like making a statement to your former team in your former arena.

"I am excited," stated Bidunga on his return to Kansas. "I played there for two years. It will be great to play against some of my teammates there and to compete with my new team."

"He is a human being," stated Kelsey on whether, this preseason game means more to Bidunga. "That is a special place to him. He has special relationships. He did great things there, and was beloved there and got teammates that are there. Naturally, there will be a sentimental part to him going back, and he is a competitor, too.”

Bidunga played his first two years at Kansas, including last year, when he emerged as one of the top centers in college basketball. He went on to make the All-Big 12 First Team and earn the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award after averaging 2.6 blocks per game and recording 91 blocks for the season.

The 5-star transfer averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game and added 13 double-doubles this season. The two teams met last preseason, when Kansas won 90-82, and Bidunga made an impression on Kelsey, scoring 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Now, Bidunga will wear red and black and will not only look to make a strong impression in his Cardinals debut, but also try to send a statement.

Bidunga's return to Allen Fieldhouse will draw everyone's attention, giving him the chance to send a major statement to college basketball and prove why he was the No. 1 overall transfer.

The Cardinals and Jayhawks tip off at 7 p.m. local time in Allen Fieldhouse, and fans can watch on ESPN U.
