Louisville football welcomed a familiar face back to the program, as Jeff Brohm and his staff welcomed Sam Secrest back to the University of Louisville.

The Cardinals pick up their seventh commitment in the spring transfer portal and continue to make this offense one of the best in the ACC. On Monday, the 6-foot-6, 300-pound interior lineman announced that he would return to Brohm, and it shouldn't come as a surprise after Louisville lost their starter, Austin Collins.

Secrest is expected to make an impact this upcoming season and should be an excellent addition to the Cardinals' experienced offensive line.

Secrest will transfer back to Brohm and the Cardinals after playing just one season with the Houston Cougars. The former 3-star Cardinals commit played in just two games for the Cougars, including two under-center snaps against Rice and one special-teams snap against Cincinnati.

Louisville lost one of its best offensive linemen to the Syracuse Orange when Collins transferred this spring. Louisville's newest addition is a possible replacement for Collins, as he will fit perfectly and easily transition back to Brohm's offense.

In his sophomore campaign, he played in only two games with Louisville, seeing action against Murray State and Duke. He did not play during his freshman season with the Cards.

Secrest was a 3-star recruit in the class of 2022. 247Sports ranked him the No.27 best player out of the state of Indiana and the No. 104 best interior offensive lineman. He initially committed to the Cardinals over Ball State, Central Michigan, and others. He earned nine offers out of high school.
