Louisville football is coming off one of its biggest wins in program history. The Cards led the entire game and shocked Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes, securing a 24-21 victory that ended their 10-game home win streak.

Louisville is right back in the mix to return to the ACC Championship game, and the Cardinals fans have Jeff Brohm to thank. The head coach continues to find ways to win and take down elite teams yearly, and after Louisville shocked the No. 2 team in the nation, it appears he is finally getting the praise he deserves.

Over the weekend, Josh Pate gave Brohm his flowers by claiming he is a top 10 coach in college football, but yesterday, former Louisville football legend and Cardinals Hall of Famer Harry Douglas appeared on his ESPN show, "Freddie and Harry," and dropped a bold take that Louisville fans have been preaching.

Former Louisville football legend drops bold take on Jeff Brohm

Douglas played four seasons with the Cardinals from 2004 to 2007, where he earned 173 catches for 2,924 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. Douglas entered Louisville's Hall of Fame in 2021, as he holds many records in the program's history. Now, after his NFL career, he is a well-known sports analyst for ESPN. On his Monday show, he dropped a bold take that every Louisville fan loves.

"Jeff Brohm is a top-five coach in college football," Douglas stated. "Don't argue with me, argue with somebody else in your family."

Douglas's bold take is no longer as bold. When college football fans think of the top coaches in college football, many will say Kirby Smart, Marcus Freeman, Dabo Swinney, Ryan Day, and maybe Curt Cignetti now after Indiana's run. However, Douglas is here to tell the nation that Brohm isn't just a top-10 coach in college football, but he is a top-five coach.

Entering the season, CBS Sports dropped their top 25 coaches in college football, and Brohm was ranked No. 17. Many Louisville fans thought that was way too low, and now looking back on it, they are absolutely correct. Brohm's ability to win big games has Penn State fans begging for him to come coach in the Big Ten, and his resume and record continue to prove why he is a top-five coach.

Brohm's resume is hard to beat. The Cards' head coach has a 4-2 record against top-five teams since 2018 and has the most ACC wins since joining the conference. Some SEC fans might disagree with Douglas' bold take, but it is hard to argue when fans begin to compare resumes and consider all that Brohm has accomplished since his arrival at Louisville.
