Former Louisville football star wide receiver Ja'Corey Brooks is back in the news after making a jaw-dropping catch in training camp for the Washington Commanders.
Brooks went undrafted and was quickly signed by the Commanders moments after the 2025 NFL Draft concluded, and has been making a name for himself all camp. In the first week of camp, Brooks was named as one of the standout players of the week after catching three touchdown passes in two days.
The former Cardinal continues to trend in the news for the Commanders and is hoping to make Dan Quinn's 53-man roster team, and this eye-popping one-handed catch only helps his case on why Quinn should select him.

Ja'Corey Brooks NFL hopes rise with Commanders after jaw-dropping catch
Brooks is coming off an All-ACC season as he earned 61 catches for 1,013 yards and nine touchdowns. He logged 20 catches for 20 yards or more, which was the third most among Power 4 players, and finished in the top 20 in the nation for receiving yards.
He is now trying to make the transition to the NFL and is on the bubble of making the Commanders' 53-man roster. However, he continues to prove why Quinn should take a chance on him and should select him, especially after he proves he can be an elite catcher on the NFL level.
Commanders were playing 7v7 against the New England Patriots, and with Brooks getting some reps with Jayden Daniels, he left fans, experts, and players speechless with an insane one-handed grab in the corner of the endzone.
