Louisville football is just hours away from its highly anticipated Week 1 matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels, and the Cardinals should be ready to go. Earlier in fall camp, star running back Isaac Brown was limited in practice and even missed the early part of camp.
Cardinals fans immediatley began to hold their breath because Brohm didn’t provide a big update at the time, only saying they need to get him healthy.
"Apparently, we just got to get him a little healthier,” stated Brohm. “Once we do, he'll be out there practicing. That's about all I got for that."
Well, earlier this week, Brohm made it clear Brown was trending in the right direction, and Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported Brown is ready to go and is “expected to be a full go against Ole Miss”, giving Louisville the exact injury report they wanted.

Isaac Brown a full-go vs Ole Miss
Brown is coming off a season where he was dominant for Louisville but limited. The star running back missed five games and played in just eight full games. He battled injuries throughout 2025, but when he was on the field, Louisville was a top team in the ACC, and he was a beast.
The Cardinals went 7-1 in the eight games Brown played last year, including a huge win on the road over the No. 2 team in the nation at the time, the Miami Hurricanes. Brown finished the year with 101 carries for 884 yards and seven touchdowns, while also leading the nation in yards per carry at an impressive 8.8.
If the Cardinals want to pull off a huge upset in Week 1 and stun the SEC and No. 9 Ole Miss, Brown must have one of his special performances. He had six games with 100 yards or more last year, including the game vs. Miami, where he finished with 113 yards.
Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding praised Brown earlier this week, calling him one of the best running backs in the country, and made it clear that their game plan is to limit the preseason All-American the best they can. As for the Cardinals, their game plan will be to try and get Brown going as quickly as possible. When Brown rushes for 100 yards or more, Louisville is an impressive 10-1, but when he rushes for under 100 yards, they are 6-4.
Brown being healthy and a full-go is massive for the Cardinals, and now it is clear: if Louisville wants to win, this offensive line must give him space to break loose and have a breakout game against this experienced Ole Miss defense.
