During the week, Louisville Cardinals basketball team had one of their more disappointing performances of the season from beyond the arc against Wake Forest in their 72-59 victory.
Cardinals finished with 11 three-pointers shooting 11-36 from downtown, and didn't finish the game out as strongly as Kelsey wanted them too. UofL is in the hunt for the ACC regular season title with just 10 games remaining and currently sits one game behind Duke in the ACC standings.
UofL is led by Pat Kelsey, as it is his first season with the Cardinals, and he has this new-looking team on an absolute tear as of recent. Cardinals are on a 10 game win streak and currently seeking their 11th straight win.
This win streak is the longest win streak for the Cardinals in over five years and they are doing it in a dominant fashion. Cardinals continue their dominant streak in the first half against Georgia Tech, as they utilized this major x-factor.
It took Louisville basketball 10 minutes to utilize their x-factor
In the first 10 minutes of the first half alone, Cardinals finished with 29 points while shooting 7-11 from downtown, and showed Kelsey why this team must live and die from three on this win streak. UofL is becoming one of the better shooting teams in the ACC, as they are able to get ahead of their opponents early like today.
Cardinals were led by Terrence Edwards Jr. and Chucky Hepburn in this explosive 10 minute run. Edwards scored 13 points in 10 minutes and was 4-5 from deep, and Hepburn was perfect from downtown shooting 3-3 with a total of 11 points. J'Vonne Hadley took part in the action as he had the other three and led to Louisville to go up 31-18.
Louisville was down 16-12 before the Cardinals caught red-hot and went on an 19-2 run and allowed just two points in a spam of 10 minutes. Hepburn and Edwards went on a 12-0 run by themselves, where they each made two threes from deep and completely changed this game around.
Hepburn and Edwards are becoming the center focus of this offense and Pat Kelsey's Cardinals team is putting the nation on notice. This dynamic duo finished the half with 13 points each and helped the Cardinals go up 10 at half.
Cardinals finished the half up 38-28 and look to carry this momentum into the second half and pick up their 11th consecutive win in a row. Louisville and Georgia Tech are going head-to-head from the McCamish Pavilion over on The CW Network.
