Louisville football's 2027 recruiting class continues to draw attention as the Cardinals have already landed seven commitments and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow have been red-hot with the 2027 recruiting class, landing more 4-stars than the 2026 class, and they are trending towards making history.
While it is still early in the recruiting process for these 2027 recruits, the Cardinals are off to a scorching, red-hot start, and 247Sports' recent update proves that. 247Sports recently updated its 2027 football recruit team rankings, and the Cardinals fans were sent into a frenzy when they saw Louisville ranked No. 5 in the nation.
Louisville football's 2027 recruiting class turning serious heads early
The Cards' seven commitments have Louisville trending towards earning the program's highest-ranked commitment class in school history. Louisville has never had a recruiting class ranked in the top five, and, to extend on that, it has never had one ranked in the top 10 or top 20, according to 247Sports. The Cardinals' highest-ranked class was in 2023, which ranked No. 23 nationally.
The Cardinals' seven commitments have them at No. 5 in the nation, only behind Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. Behind Louisville, the top 10 is rounded out by Nebraska, Syracuse, Georgia, Texas, and Virginia.
Louisville's seven commitments are led by its four 4-star commitments, specifically Allen Evans. The Louisville native is the sixth-highest-rated commitment in program history, ranked as high as No. 39 in the 2027 class and the No. 6 among cornerbacks.
Also worth noting is the first player to commit to Louisville in the 2027 class, quarterback Jack Sorgi. The Indiana native recently saw his rankings rise, now ranking as a 4-star recruit, No. 279 overall, and No. 19 among quarterbacks.
The two other 4-stars include wide receiver Chuck Alexander and tight end D'Angelo White. The Cardinals' four 4-stars and three 3-stars have this class immediatley turning heads and setting the tone for one of the best recruiting classes in a long time for Louisville football.
The Cards are trending with a lot more recruits, as well as being the favorites to land 4-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins and in-state 4-star wide receiver Cam Wade. On top of the two wide receivers, they are the favorite to land 4-star defensive back Jordan Haskins, while they are recruiting Malachi Brown heavily, the No. 2 recruit from Kentucky and No. 100 overall recruit in the 2027 recruiting class.
So, while it is a huge achievement, the Cardinals are ranked No. 5 in the nation for their 2027 recruiting class. Brohm and Marrow are letting the fans know, and college football knows they aren't slowing down, and this is only the beginning, and they are here to stay.
