The college football season has been marked by chaos through 10 weeks, but the coaching carousel is what has taken the nation by storm. Many elite and powerhouse programs have fired their head coaches and taken a different approach since the season began, forcing them to search for their next head coach.
Hugh Freeze was the latest head coach to get fired as Auburn decided to let him go after three underwhelming seasons. The Cards' head coach is, of course, a name that is immediately brought up in the mix, as Jeff Brohm is a top target for Penn State and LSU.
So, with Brohm's name being brought up consistently for job openings, someone finally decided to ask him about it, and well, Louisville football fans did not get the reassurance they were looking for.

With Penn State and LSU firing their head coaches, Brohm immediatley became a top target for both schools. Louisville was coming off a massive win over Miami on the road, and Brohm's name went viral for his impressive 4-2 record against top five opponents since 2018.
So, now that the national media is all in on Brohm, and the Cards' head coach is getting the respect he deserves, of course, his name will be brought up for head coaching jobs. However, up until now, the fans had been confident that he wouldn't leave.
"We've got good resources here," Brohm stated at his press conference Monday. "We've got a good football team. For me, it's concentrating on the season and worrying about the next game, and that's what we're doing."

The fans have made it clear since Brohm's name has been involved that they must give the head coach a raise. Brohm is one of the best coaches in the nation, as he has had the most conference wins in the ACC since he joined the ACC. However, as of now, he is earning just about $5.9 million per year under his current contract, which ranks him as the 43rd highest-paid head coach in college football.
If Louisville wants to keep him, he will need a raise. He is an alum and was born and raised in Louisville; however, the Cards have to give him a raise. Brohm has proved he deserves it, and the fans want him here. He brought life back to this city through football, as he took Louisville to its first ACC Championship game and won the most games in consecutive seasons since 2013 and 2014.
Oddsmakers have him as the sixth-highest odds to become the next LSU coach, and at one point, he was the favorite for Penn State. After these comments, it cracks the door open and makes it seem like he will listen to conversations and might be interested in leaving. The feel around the city and from the fans is that Brohm wants to stay, but he also wants a raise.
So, now the next move is for athletic director Josh Heird to pay his head coach.
