Louisville football gets a major boost over the weekend in the three positions they desperately need to address. The Cardinals started things off by landing Kentucky transfer and former All-Conference center Evan Wibberley. Then Jeff Brohm got a major boost in his safety room by landing former 4-star recruit and Tennessee transfer Kaleb Beasley. And shortly after earning Beasley’s commitment last night, Louisville addressed the corner back position and landed one of the top-ranked cornerbacks still available in the Transfer Portal, Brycen Scott.
The Elon transfer commits to Louisville after the Cardinals reportedly hosted him for a visit over the weekend. Louisville lost starting cornerback Jabari Mack and key role player Rodney Johnson Jr., so adding Scott to the secondary alongside Tayon Holloway, Texas transfer Santana Wilson, and Kentucky transfer DJ Waller is a huge boost.

Louisville’s defense is coming together this offseason, with the Cardinals featuring a loaded front line, led by key returners AJ Green and Clev Lubin. They also added North Carolina transfer Tyler Thompson, who earned seven sacks last season, and former 4-star recruit and Kentucky transfer Jerod Smith II. Then moving to the linebacker room, Louisville returns three key players in Stanquan Clark, TJ Capers, and Antonio Watts, and gets depth by bringing Benjamin Perry back.
And now the Cardinals' secondary is slowly filling in, as Louisville’s safety room is led by Iowa transfer Koen Entringer and Tennessee transfer Kaleb Beasley, and has Ole Miss transfer TJ Banks for depth. And the cornerbacks will be led by Holloway and Scott, and with Wilson and Waller as key role players.
Scott is the highest-ranked transfer commit in Louisville’s cornerback room, coming to the Cardinals ranked No. 684 overall and No. 68 among cornerbacks. The Elon transfer can track down the ball and make a play on it, as he earned 8 pass breakups while adding 35 tackles and 1 sack for the Phoenix last season.
The 6-foot, 180-pound corner back commits to Louisville as a sophomore cornerback with two years of eligibility left. He earned some snaps as a true freshman in the 2024 season, playing in 10 games and recording 9 tackles and 1 pass breakup.
