Louisville football held its first practice of its fall camp, and the fans can't help but smile from ear to ear. The 2025 college football season is coming up fast, and the Cardinals are quietly emerging as one of the dark-horse teams to make it to the CFP.

While Louisville has a lot of work to do and a challenging schedule, it is becoming clear the Cardinals have the pieces and the tools; they need to execute them on the field now. The talk of the town is the 4-star transfer from USC, Miller Moss.

Brohm and the Cardinals have made it clear their goal is the ACC Title. And if they want to achieve that goal, Moss is going to have to step up and make big-time throws and win them a few games on his own. For that to happen, Brohm spoke to the media after the first practice and revealed how Moss has been developing so far this offseason, but also what he must improve on if Louisville wants to achieve its goals.

Moss was the Cardinals' biggest addition this offseason, and while it appears to be a risk for Brohm to go all-in on the USC transfer after being benched last season, it isn't his first time. Brohm is emerging as college football's quarterbacks whisperer, and after reviving Tyler Shough and Jack Plummer, Louisville fans have to have faith he can do it with Moss, too.

The 6-foot-2 quarterback has tremendous potential, and he has shown flashes in his four seasons with USC, but he has an area he must improve on, and that is taking care of the ball and making those good decisions.

"As we ramp this thing up and get in a lot of 11v11 situations, full-speed, that is when he's got to show the improvement," Brohm stated Wednesday after first practice. "Make good decisions, take care of the football, make big-time throws, escape now and then, and make plays, and we need to see that in practice."

Last season for the Trojans, Moss started the season with a massive performance against LSU, where he threw for 378 yards on a 75 percent completion percentage with one touchdown and no interceptions. However, after that game, he then threw an interception in six of eight games, and nine for the season.

He threw just 18 touchdowns to his nine interceptions, and after he threw three picks against Washington, he was benched for the remainder of the season. Moss led the Trojans to a 4-5 record in his nine games he started, but his decision-making was his biggest issue last season, and Brohm is trying to address that right away and help him make better reads and take care of the ball.

Fans have faith in both Brohm and Moss, and Brohm concluded his statement by saying he has complete faith in Moss. He explained that Moss has been putting in all the work and doing everything they have asked him to do; now they need to see it transition on the field in 11v11 and eventually in the regular season.

If Louisville wants to make it back to Charlotte, win their first ACC Title, and make their first College Football Playoffs, it is clear that Moss must take care of the ball and limit his turnovers.
