All offseason, Louisville basketball fans have kept their eyes on one player and his recovery progress, and that is power forward Kasean Pryor. Pat Kelsey's key returning star is coming off a season-ending ACL injury that limited him to playing just seven games last season.
Kelsey has provided some updates time and time again this offseason, stating he is on schedule or even ahead of schedule, but Louisville fans just heard from Pryor himself, and it was the exact update they wanted to hear from the 6-foot-10 forward.

Kasean Pryor delivers the crucial update Louisville fans have been waiting for
Some reporters interviewed Pryor on August 9, and in this interview, he explained he has about a month left of recovery before being 100 percent, but he is going to be on the court suiting up for that first game of the 2025-26 season.
"I'm feeling really good," Pryor stated. "I just hit eight months recovery post-surgery, so I got another month to five weeks of trying to fully get back into it, and I'll be back playing. I will be ready first game of the season, I will be ready. Everybody's been asking. I will be ready for Kentucky. I'm feeling good, and a few more weeks of rehab, and I'll be right there.

While Louisville fans have assumed he will be ready for that first matchup of the upcoming season, it is always a massive update when the player himself gives the crucial update. Pryor is expected to have a significant role in this forthcoming season, whether he is starting or coming off the bench.
It is unknown if that Kentucky game is going to be the first matchup for Louisville's 2025-26 season, but with college basketball's opening night starting on October 3, Louisville will likely have a couple of games leading up to the Cardinals' blockbuster showdown with Kentucky on November 11.
