Well, Louisville basketball fans, it is almost time. The Cardinals fans have been waiting for this moment for a long time, and now they are just three days away from learning where Louisville's top point guard target will commit.

The Louisville Cardinals' top target, Taylen Kinney, will announce his college commitment live on CBS Sports HQ from Newport, Kentucky, this Sunday at 1:15 ET, per Travis Branham.

5-star PG Taylen Kinney announcing on CBS Sports

The Louisville Cardinals were once the frontrunners to land Kinney, but since his late visit to Kansas, it has been all Jayhawks. Cardinals fans are entering this commitment announcement with the hope that he picks the Cardinals, but given all the conversations pointing to Kansas, they won't be shocked if Kinney lands there instead.

Kinney is a Kentucky native and an Adidas athlete, which makes it evident why he is Kelsey's top choice in the 2026 class. However, on top of that, he is the No. 1-ranked point guard in the 2026 class and the No. 13-ranked overall recruit in the cycle. Kelsey is trying to back his 'PGU' claim up and land the No. 1 point guard in consecutive cycles, but with On3 Sports giving Kansas a 71.9 percent chance of earning his commitment, it is clear Louisville has an uphill battle on Sunday.

Kinney will ultimately decide on his final six schools, with the other four teams being Kentucky, Arkansas, Indiana, and Oregon. However, experts have made it seem it is a Louisville vs Kansas battle as of now, with Bill Self in control of the race. Louisville fans must tune in on Sunday, September 28, at 1:15 p.m. local time to see if Kelsey struck gold and landed the state's No. 2 player in the cycle, and the fans' favorite player, or if Kansas swiped the Cardinals' top target straight from their backyard.
