One of the top-ranked wide receivers in the 2026 Transfer Portal is Texas transfer DeAndre Moore Jr. The Cardinals were originally among the top teams in the running for the former Louisville football commit, but since those rumors surfaced, multiple teams appear to be rising in this intense recruiting battle.
Moore is the Louisville fans' glaring No. 1 dream target, as he is not only a former commit from the 2024 recruiting class but would be Louisville’s elite WR1 to play alongside Ohio State transfer Lincoln Kienholz and All-American running back Isaac Brown. At 6-foot, 190-pounds, the 4-star transfer is ranked as the No. 3 wide receiver in the portal and the No. 14 overall transfer.
Moore recently took a visit to Louisville, but prior to his visit, he visited Kentucky and Ohio State, and after the Cardinals' visit, he visited Colorado. Now, as it turns out, an elite SEC team has entered the mix, as Ole Miss is trending in the right direction, and the latest update from On3 Sports has Louisville fans fearing the worst about Moore’s recruiting process.

Latest DeAndre Moore Jr. Update Spells Trouble for Louisville football
Louisville fans have done all they can to try to recruit Moore to the Cardinals. Once they learned the former Cardinal commit was visiting Louisville, they have consistently been recruiting Moore on social media and creating fun hashtags and tagging the wide receiver in numerous posts to commit to Louisville. Louisville has been on a massive recruiting surge as of late, landing eight commitments on Tuesday and now totaling 14 this offseason.
However, now the main position they need is wide receiver, and the fans have made it clear that Moore is their No. 1 target. Well, On3 Sports recently stated that "the three teams coming up the most at this point" are Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Colorado, putting Louisville and Ohio State on the outside looking in.

Moore has logged 77 catches for 988 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns during his two seasons with Texas. The 4-star wide receiver has had two impressive seasons with the Longhorns, as in his true freshman season, he logged a career-high 39 catches and 7 receiving touchdowns, while adding 456 receiving yards. He followed that impressive season with 38 catches and four touchdowns and earned a career high of 532 receiving yards.
He was a consensus 4-star recruit out of high school and was once a Louisville commit. The No. 105 overall recruit and the No. 19 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting class committed to Louisville at first and was a Cardinal for six months, but flipped to Texas in December.
Now, the Cards nation once again is hoping he commits to Louisville, and he emerges as the Cardinals' clear No. 1 target in the portal at the moment. Louisville fans hope to hear more about the 4-star transfer and are hoping Louisville can get back in the mix, but for now it looks like it is between Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Colorado.
