Louisville basketball is 7-0, and the Cardinals are dominating this 2025-26 season. Pat Kelsey has this Louisville team ranked No. 6 in the nation and steamrolling its opponents. Their most recent win came on Wednesday night when Louisville defeated NJIT 104-47. The Cardinals fans saw Ryan Conwell lead the way with 32 points in just 24 minutes, but there was a glorious silver lining to that win that didn't have to do with the team.

There was a special guest in attendance for that game, as 5-star 2028 recruit and Louisville native Josh Lindsay was seen sitting courtside during the Cardinals' win. Lindsay is part of the 2028 class, but his appearance to watch Louisville is an excellent sign that he is interested in the program.

Elite 5-star local recruit seen at Louisville's win over NJIT

Lindsay currently attends St. Xavier, which is just miles down the road. The Louisville native is an elite recruit in this 2028 recruiting class, ranked as a 5-star prospect, as high as No. 20 in the class, No. 5 combo guard, and the No. 1 recruit out of Kentucky.

The Cardinals have yet to extend an offer to Lindsay, but hopefully, in the near future, Louisville capitalizes on this local star and makes an offer sooner rather than later. The 5-star recruit already has seven offers, including from three Power Five teams in Indiana, Auburn and Virginia Tech.

Lindsay recently played for Mokan Elite on the Nike EYBL Circuit, averaging over 17 points per game while shooting over 40 percent from downtown. The 6-foot, 180-pound guard is a perfect target for Louisville in this 2028 recruiting class, and hopefully, his attendance at multiple games this season already shows he is interested in being a hometown hero.

The 5-star recruit is just one of many Louisville natives ranked in 247Sports' top 150. The city of Louisville has four recruits ranked in 247Sports top 100 with Boogie Cook ranked No. 34, Jordan Mitchell ranked No. 89, and Myles Howard ranked No. 100. Louisville's top priority should be Lindsay and than hopefully they can try and land a player like Cook as well, and not only dominate the state, but be a top destination in the nation.
