Louisville football got heartbreaking news Wednesday afternoon as the Cardinals learned of its top commitments in the 2026 recruiting class flipped their commitment from UofL to Missouri. Back in July 2025, Louisville landed a massive commitment from a 4-star Jayden McGregory, but that apparently won't last, as he will now be a Tiger rather than a Cardinal.

McGregory initially committed to Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals over Missouri, Kansas, and Minnesota. He also received offers from elite programs such as Georgia, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Nebraska, Iowa, and many others.
This was a gut-wrenching blow to the Cardinals' 2026 class as he was the fourth-highest rated commitment for Louisville. The 4-star commitment ranked as high as No. 338 in the nation, No.28 in the safety position, and the No. 4 recruit out of Iowa.

Louisville football's 2026 recruiting class takes another massive hit
The Cardinals' 2026 recruiting class takes another massive hit as Brohm and Vinve Marrow just lost their second commitment this week. Earlier in the week, Nick Lautar flipped his commitment from Louisville to Ohio State just after 24 hours of earning an offer from the 2024 National Champions.
Now, McGregory is Louisville's eighth decommitment from this 2026 recruiting class, and is up towards the top as one of the Cards' biggest losses. The 4-star safety is 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, and is a dominant two-way player, ranked as an athlete by 247Sports and No. 25 at that position.
McGregory earned 20 tackles, one tackle for a loss, 13 pass breakups, and three interceptions last season for Valley High School. The Cardinals take a crushing blow from the 4-star prospect, but still boast an impressive recruiting class with their 21 commitments. Marrow and Brohm's 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 31 in the nation and is the Cardinals' best ranking in over three classes.
