Brown’s verbal commitment came earlier this week after he committed to Louisville over Kentucky, Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, and many others. He was initially an Indiana commitment, but he uncommitted from the Hoosiers in early March, and Louisville took full advantage, landing the in-state native.

After Louisville landed Brown over the Wildcats, many Kentucky fans tried to make it seem like the recruiting process wasn’t over and to keep an eye on him. However, Brown shut down any flip rumors or any possibility that he would leave Louisville.

Ja'Hyde Brown's commitment is 'set in stone'

Brown was recently interviewed on the 'Spill in the Ville' podcast, and when the interview was wrapping up, the 4-star was asked if there was anything else he wanted to talk about. Brown said exactly what Louisville wanted to hear.

"With me decommitting from Indiana, there's been a lot of talk, like, are you gonna decommit again? No.” Brown stated on the podcast. “Like, it's set in stone. I'm a Louisville Cardinal,"

Kentucky fans were hoping Brown would decommit again and keep his recruiting process open. Kentucky fans were claiming to "expect more twists and turns" surrounding Brown before Signing Day, but all that was quickly shut down when the 4-star made it clear the commitment is “set in stone.” Many fans nowadays see players decomitting all the time, but Brown is sending a loud message to Will Stein and the Kentucky Wildcats that he is a Cardinal.

Brown ranks as high as No. 292 in the 2027 recruiting class and No. 5 among recruits out of Kentucky. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound wide receiver ranks No. 49 among wide receivers after his impressive junior season, where he earned 98 catches for 1,556 yards and 24 touchdowns.
