Louisville football continues to dominate the early stages of the 2027 class, as Jeff Brohm and Louisville landed its ninth commitment Monday afternoon. The Cardinals continue to send a loud message to the rest of the country that they are not going away and will not slow down anytime soon.

Jeff Brohm strikes again as Louisville football lands another 4-star over Kentucky

Monday afternoon, Vince Marrow and Brohm landed 4-star wide receiver Ja’Hyde Brown, marking the fifth 4-star commitment in the 2027 recruiting class. Brown’s commitment now marks Louisville’s fourth Kentucky native commitment, and third 4-star Kentucky native commitment.

Louisville is dominating the state of Kentucky early on, as all four Kentucky native commitments land inside the state’s top 10 prospects in the 2027 cycle, and have two inside the top five. Louisville continues to turn heads nationwide as the Cardinals' five 4-star commitments aren’t just sending a loud message, but also move Louisville past the Georgia Bulldogs in 247Sports' updated 2027 Recruit Football Team Rankings after Brown’s commitment.

With Brown’s commitment, Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class now ranks as high as No. 7 in the nation, bumping the Cardinals past Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. The Cardinals are trending toward making program history, as the highest Louisville has ever ranked was No. 23 in the nation for its 2023 recruiting class. But right now, with Brohm and Marrow dominating in-state recruiting, this class is on pace to shatter that previous record.

Brown committed to Louisville after decommitting from the Indiana Hoosiers, the 2025 National Champions, and committed to the Cardinals over big-time programs like Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, and many others. The Cards now have five 4-star commitments, with Allen Evans leading the group as the 4-star cornerback is the sixth-highest-rated commitment in program history.

Evans is ranked as high as No. 69 in the 2027 cycle, No. 10 among cornerbacks, and No. 2 out of the state of Kentucky. Also committing to Louisville from Kentucky is 4-star safety Jordan Haskins, who is ranked No. 5 from Kentucky, No. 318 overall, and No. 30 among safeties.

The other two 4-star commitments Brohm landed this class are from Ohio in wide receiver Chuck Alexander and tight end D'Angelo White. Alexander ranks No. 315 overall in the 2027 cycle and No. 40 among wide receivers, while White ranks No. 279 overall and No. 14 among tight ends.

Brohm and Marrow have been dominant early on this 2027 cycle, and while it is still very early, the two aren’t slowing down anytime soon. Louisville hosted two elite in-state recruits at practice on Monday afternoon, as 4-star defensive lineman Malachi Brown and star safety Elijah Burns-Crump were both in attendance. So, this Cardinals 2027 recruiting class isn’t just trying to make history and crack the top 20 for the first time in program history; they are trying to dominate and continue to turn heads nationwide as they move past Georgia and are in front of major college football programs like the Bulldogs, Miami, Texas, Michigan, and many others.
