On Sunday evening, Louisville and Kentucky basketball fans were going back and forth about who the favorite is for the 5-star transfer, Milan Momcilovic. The Wildcats were once the slight favorite in many reporters' and analysts' eyes, as Matt Norlander predicted Kentucky to land the 5-star and noted he thought it would have happened over the weekend.
Louisville’s projected lineup if it lands Milan Momcilovic would put Cards in NCAA Title hunt
However, there was no commitment over the weekend, and social media erupted Sunday night. Many online accounts said Louisville basketball was the new favorite, and Kentucky and Mark Pope whiffed. However, notable reporters from both fanbases made it clear that no team has been informed of Momcilovic's decision, and that both schools are still in the mix.
A toss-up for 5-star Milan Momcilovic
Sunday night, all of a sudden, Louisville emerged as the heavy favorite on social media, but by no reliable source. A bunch of accounts began releasing their own crystal ball predictions favoring the Cardinals, but none were from reliable sources that Louisville or Kentucky fans could trust.
However, this all caught a lot of traction on social media, causing both fanbases to erupt online. Shortly after the online eruption, Mike Rutherford and Matt Jones agreed that, as of May 31, Momcilovic hadn’t yet informed anyone where he had committed, and made it seem like this one is still a toss-up.

The Cards reportedly offered the 5-star slightly less than the Cats did, in hopes of getting Momcilovic to commit to Louisville because of a higher chance of winning a National Title. Right now, Louisville is a unanimous top 15 team in early rankings, while Kentucky didn't even make ESPN's latest top 25 Monday morning.
So, Momcilovic's commitment is a massive decision, as if the Cards land the elite 3-point specialist, then Kelsey and Louisville enter the NCAA Title hunt and emerge as a potential top-five team in the nation. And for Kentucky, Jeff Goodman made it clear that if Mark Pope strikes out on Momcilovic, then Goodman believes this could be Pope's final year at Kentucky.
But for now, Louisville and Kentucky fans will have to wait a bit longer, and the two insiders for each program confirmed that the recent online eruption from last night was just a lot of smoke. So, Louisville fans stick around, and we will keep you updated with all news and updates surrounding Momcilovic’s recruitment.
