The Louisville Cardinals' baseball season has been an up-and-down roller coaster. The Cards' are 34-17 on the year with a 14-13 ACC record. Louisville is just 6-12 on the road, and over the weekend, Dan McDonnell and his Cardinals dropped two straight to Georgia Tech, making Louisville lose the series to the Yellow Jackets.
However, there was a glorious silver lining in the Cardinals' two losses, as history was able to write, as freshman first baseman Tague Davis officially broke the Cardinals' program record for the most home runs in a player's freshman season.

Louisville baseball's crushing losing streak came with glorious silver lining
Davis hit a 436-foot solo home run against Georgia Tech, marking his 16th home run of the season and breaking the tie with Chris Dominguez for the most home runs by a freshman. The current Cardinal already broke the true freshman record last month, as Alex Binelas previously held it at 14 homers.
The Philadelphia native is having an incredible season. He is hitting .279 with 45 RBIs, 97 total bases, and an OPS of .973. Davis is expected to be a massive piece for the Cardinals' future, as he was one of the top recruits to commit to Louisville in the class of 2024. Davis had a batting average of .347 with six homers and 37 RBIs.
Louisville will return to Jim Patterson Stadium to play Bellarmine on Tuesday, May 13, and then Wake Forest to close out the regular season. The ACC Baseball Championships will occur in Durham, N.C., from May 20-25.
