Louisville basketball lands former 5-star SF Karter Knox
Knox is a former 5-star recruit who was a top Louisville target in the 2024 recruiting class. He was ranked as high as No. 22 in the nation and No. 8 among small forwards. Knox cut his list to Kentucky, Louisville, and South Florida, and ultimately committed to the Wildcats. However, John Calipari moved from Kentucky to Arkansas, and the 5-star ended up flipping his commitment to the Razorbacks.
Now, after two seasons with Arkansas, it feels like Kelsey just landed his next starting small forward. Knox started in 42 of his 58 games with the Razorbacks, including 18 this past season. He had an impressive first year with Arkansas, where he averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and 35 percent from beyond the arc.
He flourished in the postseason when he posted a 15-point performance in the Round of 32 against No. 2 seed St. John’s and a 20-point performance in the Sweet 16 against Texas Tech.
As for this past season, the 4-star transfer played in just 22 games after his season was cut short because he got surgery on his left meniscus. He started in 18 of those 22 games and averaged 8.1 points,4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, while shooting 46 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from 3-point range.
He scored 15 or more points five times, including a 20-point performance against Texas Tech, when he went 8-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Knox commits to Louisville as a unanimous 4-star transfer and is ranked as high as No. 57 overall and No. 6 among small forwards.
