The day has finally arrived. The Louisville basketball program and fans are tuning in this afternoon to see if one of Kentucky's superstar recruits will join the Cardinals or not.

Taylen Kinney's commitment announcement is just hours away, and with Louisville in his final six, the Cardinals feel they are one of the top two choices. Pat Kelsey has made it clear he wants Kinney to be a Cardinal, and he has nearly had a "UFC fight" with Kentucky head coach Mark Pope over a visit with Kinney.

The Cardinals were once the dominant favorite, and fans thought the Kentucky native was going to commit to Louisville this afternoon. However, the recruiting process drastically shifted in the last month, leaving Louisville fans to fear the worst.

As we get closer and closer to the 5-star commitment announcement, the Cardinals fans are letting reality sit and accept he might be a Jayhawk. On social media, we asked who Kinney would commit to, and the dominant answer on both X and Facebook was Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks.

The Cardinals fans have made it clear Kinney is one of their top targets, and they want him to wear red and black next year, but after Rivals Joe Tipton predicted Kinney to commit to Kansas, and On3 Sports increased Kansas' odds again to now a dominant 83.3 percent chance of earning his commitment, the fans are accepting reality.

Kelsey has done all that he can to try and regain that lead for Kinney, but the Jayhawks have the dominant lead, and it feels like it, and the fans can't help but assume Kinney is going to be wearing a Jayhawk hat at 1:15 p.m. instead of a Cardinals hat.

Louisville, of course, still has a chance and is considered the next closest team behind Kansas. The 5-star point guard is ranked as high as No. 13 in the nation and the No. 1 point guard. He will make his commitment this afternoon, September 28, at 1:15 p.m. local time on CBS Sports HQ.
