Louisville basketball recently landed its first recruit from the 2026 class, London Johnson. While many college basketball fans and coaches were outraged by this, Pat Kelsey made it clear after the Kansas game that he sees no difference between signing a G-League player and signing a player from a professional league overseas.
"I think it is the same exact thing," Kelsey stated on Louisville signing Johnson from the G-League. "I don't think there is any difference. A ton of schools signing players that were professional players and signed professional contracts in professional basketball leagues."
Well, now that Kelsey landed the first G-League player, a bunch have begun opening their phone lines and considering going from the G-League to college basketball, including forward Kok Yat, who Louisville is in contact with, according to Joe Tipton.

Louisville basketball must get this elite forward from the G-League
Louisville is in an early recruiting battle with some Big East giants, as Tipton reported that Louisville, Providence, West Virginia, Xavier, and the University of San Fransico are all interested in Yat.
Former G-League forward Kok Yat is exploring a move to college basketball after playing professionally the last few seasons.

The 6-foot-7 195 195-pound forward would be the second G-League player on the Cardinals roster next year if he were to commit, giving Louisville some elite experience. Kelsey is continuing to attack these G-League players and utilize these new rules to give Louisville some elite experience.
Yat has played two seasons in the G-League, including his first with the Iowa Wolves, where he averaged 4.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game. He now plays for the Texas Legends after joining the Legends last season. Before he signed professionally, the 21-year-old was a highly recruited high school star.
The Georgia native ranked as high as No. 135 in the nation and No. 26 in the small forward position. He received over 15 offers from big-time schools like Auburn, Kansas, and Georgia, but decided to sign a professional contract.
Now that Kelsey landed Johnson, the whole nation is calling the G-League to add some players. The Cardinals would land an elite player with tremendous potential, as Yat has crazy bounce and athleticism.
Kelsey has already landed one G-League player, and Cardinals fans should hope they can land this one as well, especially after missing out on multiple high school prospects.
