Louisville basketball recieved a Nate Ament update on Feb. 18, as Joe Tipton went on Matthew McGavic YouTube channel to talk Lousiville basketball including their recruiting.
For those who don't know Joe Tipton is one of the nation's best basketball recruiting reporter and he works for On3 Sports.
Louisville was reportedly in Ament's "top 2" and a potential front runner, according to Joe Tipton when he was on a radio show earlier in the month. However, in this recent podcast episode with McGavic, Tipton provided an even better update on the 2025 McDonald's All American five-star recruit.

Joe Tipton reportedly stated that he believes Nate Ament will make his commitment in the upcoming few weeks, and if he had to choose a school he thinks Ament will commit to, he thinks Louisville is in the lead now.
"I know Louisville is towards the top of his list. I even wrote recently on ON3.com that if I had to pick a school that Nate Ament picks I would probably lean towards Louisville."
Louisville basketball recruiting has jumped Duke in Tipton's eyes, and stated he believes Duke could land the 5-star prospect, but if he had to choose he thinks Louisville will get him.
"I think Duke is right there, and I probably would have said last month that Duke was the favorite to land him just because they have been so involved with him for so much longer than Louisville, but Louisville really came on strong, and he got a really good relationship with that coaching staff and their is a lot of trust.
Pat Kelsey and his Cardinals are currently ranked No. 9 for the class of 2025 due to the fact they were able to land a unanimous 5-star McDonalds All-American Mikel Brown Jr.. Brown is ranked eighth overall according to On3 Sports, No. 7 overall , according to 247Sports, and No. 11 in ESPN's 100.
Tipton believes the commitment of Mikel Brown Jr. could be a helping factor for Cardinals to land Nate Ament.
"Also, I really think he likes the appeal of playing with Mikel Brown." Tipton stated on Brown's commitment.
Tipton stated that even though he believes Louisville is the leader right now, it has consistently changed throughout Ament's recruitment process.
"Last month it felt like Duke is the leader, now it feels like Louisville might be catching up or surpassing them, but also very much so monitoring Kentucky who came on really strong as of late."
Louisville seems to be in the lead for this highly-recruitied prospect, but nothing is signed just yet. So, Cardinals fans, get excited and happy, but don't jump to conclusions, as Tipton believes Louisville is leading right now and believes he will announce in a few weeks.
