The Louisville Cardinals had an eye-popping offseason, as Pat Kelsey and Louisville landed the No. 1 Transfer Portal class in the nation. The Cardinals lost nine of their top 10 players from this past season, including all five starters and their three leading scorers, including two who got drafted.
So, Kelsey had a lot of work to do this offseason, and the majority of the work was done in the Transfer Portal. Louisville landed six commitments from the portal, including 5-star transfer Flory Bidunga and 4-star transfer Jackson Shelstad.
The Cardinals are now a likely top 15 team in the first AP Poll rankings, but there is a way for Louisville to get even better.
Pat Kelsey shouldn't ignore this late transfer portal opportunity
The Cardinals are likely done and won’t add another player to their roster, but if Louisville wanted to make this a top 10 team in the country, they should heavily consider Keyshawn Hall. The Auburn transfer was considering going pro, but after not signing a professional contract, the NCAA granted an additional year of eligibility through a preliminary injunction in Ohio, according to On3 Sports' Joe Tipton.

Hall was one of the top scorers in the SEC this past season and would be a massive addition to the Cardinals' frontcourt. Louisville was showing a lot of interest in Iowa State transfer Milan Momcilovic, battling Kentucky for the 5-star transfer, and while the Cardinals didn’t land the elite 3-point shooter, it shows Kelsey is interested in improving his frontcourt and his roster.
CBS Sports' Isaac Trotter called out Kelsey and Louisville and said it is time for the Cardinals to win. Louisville’s roster is already in position to compete for a National Title, but if Hall is interested in Louisville, the Cards should truly think about reaching out.
Tipton reported, “He (Hall) entered the transfer portal on April 20th and says he’s been in communication with several top programs.” It will be interesting to see what Hall decides if he returns to college basketball, but if he does, Kelsey and Louisville should 100 percent consider targeting this elite forward.
