Louisville basketball officially is less than a month away from postseason and they are one of the hottest teams in all off college basketball.
Cardinals have just seven games remaining in the season, UofL currently sit in second place in the ACC and are 18-6 on the season. If Louisville just can avoid the injury bug and get healthy, they will remain serious contenders for the ACC, and might even make history and take the crown.
Louisville is one of the most dangerous teams from beyond the arc, and when they are able to drive and kick, or score in the paint early, it causes havoc on the opponents defense the rest of the game. Cardinals open court allows them to shoot on average 30.7 threes a game which is sixth most per game in the country.
Cardinals have shot a total 737 threes, which is 10th most in country, and have made 237 of them. Louisville has the most threes made in the ACC and it is not even close as next team is Duke with 620
This Louisville squad proves they are lethal from deep, and the main man in charge is making a name for himself and is becoming one of the nations top three-point shooters.
Reyne Smith dominant season thus far
Reyne Smith has been elite from downtown and Pat Kelsey will likely lean on him more with some key starters being out with injuries. Smith is not just the Cardinals leader from beyond the arc, he is a top three-point shooter in the whole nation.
The three-point specialist is lethal from deep, as he is shooting from beyond the arc at 40%, and has made a total of 91 threes this season, which is the second most in the nation. He is averaging 3.9 made threes per game which also comes in ranking second in the nation.
"His light is neon." Pat Kelsey stated in his press conference after their win over Miami. "Name a color that is greener than green, and he's got it."
Reyne Smith averages 9.8 shots from downtown per game which is fourth in the country, but as clearly noted by head coach Pat Kelsey, Smith is too lethal of a shooter to ever put in his head to hesitate a shot.
Smith has to get touches and shots and he must be used early with Hepburn and possibly Scott out. Cardinals guards have to continue to drive and kick and utilize one of the nation's top three-point shooters. Smith is coming off one of his best performance in a long time as he knocked down six threes from beyond the arc and finished the game with 26 points.
The lethal shooters best game came against SMU in the Louisville basketball team dominant win over SMU, and really helped put this Louisville Cardinals tea on the nations radar. Smith finished with 30 points, where he shot 10-17 from deep. His 10 made threes in a game is now the most threes made in program history.

The 6-foot-2, 190 pound guard out of Australia transferred in this year from Charleston with Pat Kelsey and is a key reason the Cardinals are competing for the ACC crown. Smith ability to create space without the ball, and catch and shoot is why he is one of the nations best.
The lefty shooter causes the defense to follow him and open up the floor for players like Chucky Hepburn and Terrence Edwards Jr. If Reyne Smith can continue this shooting into the ACC Tournament and March Madness, this Louisville squad can go as far as he can take them.
Pat Kelsey and his Louisville Cardinals live and die from downtown, and with Reyne Smith leading them, if UofL can catch fire just at the right time, they can make a push to the Final Four.
Louisville basketball shifts their focus to North Carolina State as the Cardinals will play the Wolfpack on Feb. 12.
