Louisville basketball's 2025-26 roster is almost set, and the Cardinals are just a couple of spots away from having their full roster for the upcoming season. Louisville was able to land three players from the transfer portal this offseason, as well as add two international recruits in the past month.
Head coach Pat Kelsey had an excellent offseason, and his transfer portal additions rank No. 3 in the nation. Many rumors are beginning to circulate about who could be Kelsey's last roster spots, but a name that Louisville should steer clear of is Miami transfer Kiree Huie.

Louisville Basketball must steer clear of Miami transfer after decommitment
It was reported by Tobias Bass back on June 4 that the former Miami forward decommitted from UTSA and will reopen its recruitment. Huie might have a high ceiling and some upside to his game that could fit the Cardinals' playstyle, but at this point in their recruiting, considering the players and positions they need, the former Hurricane doesn't address their dire need.
Louisville was bitten by the injury bug last season, and the last thing they need is a player coming off a hand injury who missed over 2.5 months of the season last year. The Cardinals will look to add either a 7-foot center who can be that key paint presence just in case Aly Khalifa's appeal isn't overturned or possibly another point guard to play behind Mikel Brown Jr. and Kobe Rodgers.
Louisville's power-forward room is pretty loaded at the moment. They have Kasean Pryor, J'Vonne Hadley, Mouhamed Camara, and Evangelos Zougris. Now, those forwards will all play multiple positions depending on who else is on the floor, but it appears Louisville needs a center or a point guard more than another power forward, especially Huie, who didn't show much last season with Miami.

Huie is one of the top available bigs left in the portal
He Missed most of 24-25 season due to injury, only playing 14 games at Miami
In 23-24 he Averaged 11.3 points & 5.8 rebounds at Idaho State pic.twitter.com/T3qTBRhcvU
Last season with the Hurricanes, he played only 127 minutes, averaging 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds while shooting 47.4 percent from the floor. He scored a total of 22 points on the season and put up just 19 total shots. Before his lone season with Miami, he played for Idaho State, where he started 32 of 34 games and logged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor.
Louisville was already able to lock up a power forward with his build and potential, as Camara has a higher ceiling and will have more years of eligibility remaining. The Cards don't need to take a risk on another power forward at this point in the offseason and should focus on whether they need to add a dominant center.
While Huie has the chance to be a tremendous player for his next program, the Cardinals should look towards someone who can be that x-factor off the bench and spark the team. Currently, Louisville only has Sananda Fru and Kasean Pryor in their center room, making that position a priority.
