Louisville basketball recently saw some action as the Cardinals landed a Mouhamed Camara from the NBA Academy Africa. Head coach Pat Kelsey and the Louisville Cardinals have had an offseason that exceeded all expectations, propelling them as National Championship contenders and ACC favorites.
The Cardinals have only lost two players as of now but may lose Aly Khalifa, depending on whether his appeal is overturned or not. So, after landing Camara, Khalifa being ruled ineligible by the NCAA, James Scott transferring to Ole Miss, and the six key additions to the Cardinals' 2025-26 squad, we thought it would be a good time to predict Louisville's starting five and depth chart.
So, here is our Louisville basketball projected depth chart for the 2025-26 season.
Louisville basketball's projected depth chart for 2025-26 season
Point Guard
- Mikel Brown Jr.
- Kobe Rodgers
The Cardinals' point guards will be led by their historic 5-star commit, Mikel Brown Jr. The incoming freshman was a McDonald's All-American and already has an impressive resume, having earned a gold medal with Team USA at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup. Brown is ranked as high as the sixth-best prospect in the 2025 class and is the No. 1 point guard.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard has high expectations, as 247Sports ranked him as the second-highest commit in Cardinals history. Playing behind Brown is their veteran guard, Kobe Rodgers. The Charleston transfer sat out all last season after an injury from 2024.
He has the potential to be an elite scorer off the bench and play crucial minutes for Kelsey's Cardinals. The senior averaged 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field and 45 percent from downtown.
The Cardinals lacked depth in this position last season and relied heavily on Chucky Hepburn, but next season should be a whole different story. Louisville will be led by future NBA star and 5-star commit Brown, who will bring elite leadership and depth, with Rodgers coming off the bench.
