The Louisville Cardinals earned three commitments in the class of 2025. The most recent commit was Mouhamed Camara, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound power forward. The Cardinals' other two commits include 4-star Sananda Fru and the historic 5-star Mikel Brown Jr.
Brown is the second-highest commit in Louisville basketball history, as the 5-star has a 0.9969 rating according to 247Sports. The Florida native is ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the class of 2025, the No. 1 point guard, and the second-best player out of Florida.
He has earned high praise in this final year as he participated in the McDonald's All-American Game and won the 3-point Contest. He is ranked among many experts' top five incoming first-year students and is projected to be a 2026 NBA Lottery Draft Pick. Well, Brown got even more praise as the future star point guard for Pat Kelsey and the Cardinals has been selected to the 2025 USA Basketball Men's U19 National Team training camp, according to USA Basketball.

The 2025 USA Basketball Men's U19 National Team training camp will be hosted at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Brown is one of 33 players invited to this elite camp, as the camp will kick off on June 14 and will eventually select a 12-player roster.
The 12 selected will represent the Stars and Stripes at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men's World Cup in Switzerland. Brown represented Team USA at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup, where he started every game and was a key player for the Stars and Stripes. Brown averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game and would earn his first gold medal.
Brown averaged 29.2 points for DME Academy last season and committed to the Cardinals over Alabama, Michigan, Auburn, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard is expected to be Louisville's leading man next season. The consensus 5-star will look to gain more international experience if he is selected to play at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men's World Cup, and earn his second gold medal to improve his already impressive resume.
Louisville basketball's No. 1 target in the class of 2026, Tyran Stokes, was also invited to the 2025 USA Basketball Men's U19 National Team training camp. The class of 2026 had 13 prospects invited, and the Cardinals have made offers to four of them. Louisville's 42.7 percent chance currently is the best percentage to land the consensus No. 1 recruit in the class of 2026.
