The man leading them in charge is Reyne Smith, who made four threes in last night win over Notre Dame, and entered elite Cardinals status. The Cardinals guard trasferred in from Charleston with Pat Kelsey and has immediatley stepped up his game and became of the nations best three-point specialists this season.
Reyne Smith makes Louisville basketball history
The Cardinals elite three-point specialist is one of the nations best shooters from beyond the arc, as he is shooting from deep at 40%, and is averaging 3.8 threes made in a game which leads the nation.
In last nights win, Smith made another four three-pointers, which etched his name in the program history books, as he is just the third Louisville Cardinal to hit 100 threes or more in a single season.
Reyne Smith has hit his 100th three-pointer of the season. He's just the third Cardinal to do that (Taquan Dean - twice - and Preston Knowles the others). With his second three tonight, he passed DeJuan Wheat on the single-season list. pic.twitter.com/Unah7zzuCN

Reyne Smith now sits at third for most threes made in program history in a single season. He just passed DeJuan Wheat, and now sits behind Taquan Dean as Dean made 105 from beyond the arc in 2005-06, and then 122 threes in 2004-05, which is most in program history.
Smith's season-high three-pointers made in a single season 112, as he set that record last season at Charleston. Smith currently sits even at 100 made from beyond the arc, which leads the nation, and Cardinals still have five games left.
He is on pace to break his record before the end of the regular season, and he will most likely jump into second for all-time for Cardinals program next couple games.
"He is like a son to me, it is kind of emotional to see the success he has had this year because he came with me from Charleston and he was a three-year player, decorated player there." Kelsey stated after the Cardinals 20th win of the season.
"I believe he was one of the best three-point shooters in the country, but now on this stage for him to really of raised the level of his game. He is better here then he was there. And he was really good there. It is so awesome to see." Kelsey stated.
Pat Kelsey went on the say he isn't just a "suburban jump shooter" as he can also guard and is a tough and physical basketball player.
Louisville basketball player, Reyne Smith is a name to remember, and he is making his name known by etching his name in program history books in just his only season with the Cardinals.
Smith has now made history making 100 threes in a season, which is a mark of its own, but it also is the third most threes in Cardinals program history in a season. The Cardinals three-point specialist will be a huge factor in their post season run an could be a reason this team goes far.
