The Louisville Cardinals are in contact with multiple players in the transfer portal as head coach Pat Kelsey and his staff are trying to finalize their 2025-26 roster. The Cards' have had one of the best offseasons so far, choosing quantity over quality.

Kelsey landed just three commitments this offseason, but those three commits are three elite playmakers and shooters, making Louisville's offseason the third-best, according to 247Sports. Louisville will now look to replace their forward, James Scott, after he hit the portal before the deadline. Louisville needs a lengthy forward who can help space out the floor, and Kelsey and his staff are working overtime to perfect this National Championship-contending roster.

Louisville basketball has been in contact with a few players, but Sam Kayser reported that Kelsey and the Cardinals are one of 10 teams to reach out to the Miami transfer, Paul Djobet

Louisville was reported to be a top landing spot for dream targets like Jamir Watkins and Baba Miller, but it appears Kelsey has an excellent backup plan. He is also reaching out to the French native and former Miami Hurricane.

Djobet is an under-the-radar small forward who already knows the ACC style of play. He played two seasons with Miami, including this past season, during which he saw massive improvement. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 16.4 minutes per game and scored 5.5 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from beyond the arc.

He showed real potential this past season with the Hurricanes. The former 3-star recruit scored double digits eight times in the 2024-25 season, including his two career-high 13-point performances against Syracuse and Florida State.

Djobet has the length and size to be a solid piece for the Cardinals. He stands tall at 6-foot-7 and has the potential to be a legit defensive stud off the bench. He showed some inconsistency on the offensive side, but he also proved he could be a solid role player off the bench if the Cardinals were to land his commitment.

Other notable teams in contact with Djobet include Syracuse, Clemson, Cal, Georgia Tech, and Missouri. Louisville appears to be in a heavy ACC battle as the Cardinals are up against four other ACC teams for the ACC transfer.
